Commuters

NaPoWriMo Day 15. Today’s poem is called Commuters and was inspired by my trip to London today.

Commuters

We sit across tables

hunched over screens

tippy tap, tippy tap

stopping now and then

to stare at the latest mail

then off again

tippy tap, tippy tap.

From time to time

we look up and

catch an eye

then look away

tippy tap, tippy tap.

We barely notice

green fields and

blue skies flashing by

tippy tap, tippy tap.

Pulling into the station

we close our lids,

grab our bags and

rise to go home

where we sit

in front of screens

ready for more

tippy tap, tippy tap.
